Digital Transformation

Often Digital Transformation is regarded as a one-off project. Unfortunately, that is also what it looks like when an organization has an it-landscape with several hundred unintegrated systems and no data management.

However, the truth is that the world is now digital-first, and you need continuous Digital Transformations to remain competitive - or relevant even.

Digital transformation are one of the key disruption trends and means to retaining customers and to gain competitive advantages, but most of them fail.

According to McKinsey, 70 percent of complex, large-scale change programs don’t reach their stated goals.

So what are some common mistakes to avoid? What competencies do you need, and what hard truths should you understand before spending millions on Digital Transformation?

"Unfortunately, Digital Transformation quite often fails. But organizations can do many things BEFORE rushing into projects without the proper preparation."

Background

I am 50 years old and have worked with computers since I was 6. So you could say that I am a first-generation digital native.

I started my personal digital journey at age 6 with the Commodore-64.

I have worked at large companies such as The Danish Broadcasting Corporation, Microsoft, Danfoss, PwC, and CGI. Today, I work as a Business and IT architect.

I hold a business Ph.D. from Copenhagen Business School and have been a visiting scholar at Stanford, and I am a former associate professor. For more details see: linkedin.com/in/kristian-stoffregen

Fun Fact: I'm a cyborg. 'Cyborg' is a blend of the words cybernetic and organism. It refers to beings with both organic and biomechatronic body parts.

I lost the hearing in my right ear long ago in a scuba diving accident. So now I got a bone-anchored hearing aid - a bone conduction implant system.

I currently use Oticon's Ponto 5 mounted on a titanium implant drilled into my skull. It has changed my life for the better, but I don't get stereo ;-)
